Educating Health Centers: Immigration and Workplace Resources

View a summary of the of six (6) executive orders recently issued by the new administration here.

Background on executive orders pertaining to federal contractors and OFCCP compliance can be found here.

This guide outlines nonprofits’ rights and establishes best practices against mass deportations and aggressive immigration policies. This guidance reflects information known at the time of writing. Much of the guidance reflects rights grounded in the United States Constitution, particularly the Fourth Amendment, that should remain relatively stable unless they are challenged in new litigation that reaches the United States Supreme Court.

Given the potential impact of the recent Executive Order (EO) on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, this checklist, “Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-based Opportunity,” is an evolving, non-exhaustive guide to help companies navigate the challenges posed by the recent EO. It outlines good practice for balancing compliance with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Join Colleen Meiman, PCA National Policy Advisor, Jimmy F. Robinson, Jr., J.D., of Olgetree Deakins, and VCHA staff as they review actions that the Trump Administration has and is expected to take around immigration and care for other marginalized communities, and discuss ways that your health centers and their patients can prepare for these policies. During the webinar, Meiman and Robinson share helpful resources that will support your health centers and patients in these efforts.
