About the Scholarship

The VCHA Community Health Scholarship was created to provide early-career readiness support to future health professionals as they prepare for careers in public health and community healthcare.

For the 2025-2026 academic year, VCHA administered six 2-year, $2,500/year scholarships to Nurse Practitioner students and four 2-year, $2,500/yr scholarships for Behavioral Health Masters students that are planning on entering the clinical field.

2025 scholarships were awarded to students at Virginia Commonwealth University, with the goal of expanding scholarship partnerships to other public universities around the Commonwealth in 2026.

Scholarship Criteria

Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Form
  • Must have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by their college or university

More information about 2026-27 scholarship opportunities will be released in 2026.
