Last week, Senator Kaine held a town hall with health and state officials to discuss COVID-19 vaccine issues in Virginia. Barbara Willis, CEO of
Hampton Roads Community Health Center, Eileen Lepro, CEO of New Horizons Healthcare, Malcolm Perdue, CEO of Stone Mountain Health Services, and Rick Shinn, Director of Government Affairs, were representing Virginia Community Health Centers at the event.
As of Wednesday, February 17th, the Virginia COVID-19 vaccination data is showing a wide disparity among the Black and Latino communities. More than 70% of people vaccinated in Virginia are white and less than 20% are Black or Latino.
Virginia Community Health Centers are working to bridge the gap in vaccine disparities among minority communities and vulnerable populations.
