Checklists

We are inundated with tools and methods to help us stay organized. Yet, all of us have days when despite our best efforts, everything just goes wrong – sometimes terribly wrong.

Inspired by an episode of the NPR podcast, Hidden Brain, we were reminded of a simple tool that for hundreds of years, humans have used to avoid common mistakes. This tool is the humble Checklist.

No matter how expert we may be in our work, well-designed checklists can improve outcomes. From aviation to healthcare, checklists have become one of the most widely used methods of preventing errors.   Your Health Center likely uses checklists to consistently deliver quality patient care. The podcast episode got us to thinking about checklists which are helpful to Communications work.

Listen to the episode and Check Out Our Collection of Checklists. Let us know if you have some great checklists you use at your Health Center that you’d like to share with your CHC Communicator colleagues. We’ll keep adding to the Checklist collection.
