Board of Directors Announces Current Executive is Leaving Post

The Virginia Community Healthcare Association Board of Directors announced today that on July 31, Neal Graham will be stepping down as the Chief Executive Officer of the Association to pursue new opportunities.

“The past 19 years have given me the opportunity to work with some of the very best in the health center world and I am appreciative of the experience,” said Mr. Graham.

Said Board President Barbara Willis, “The Association Board of Directors is working closely with Neal on the transition timeline. Board Member Angela Futrell is leading the recruitment efforts for our next Chief Executive Officer. We look forward to building on the success and strong foundation Neal has put in place.”

“Neal has accomplished a great deal during his time with the Association. When he joined as CEO in 2001, there were 23 members and 18 Federally Qualified Health Centers. The number of healthcare delivery sites was at 54, serving 158,000 patients, and the Association’s financial reserves were $103,705,” stated Gary Campbell, Vice President, Board of Directors. “Today, there are 30 members and 27 Federally Qualified Health Centers and Look-Alikes serving 376,000 patients with financial reserves at $4,994,327. Neal helped guide the centers through Medicaid expansion, 19 years of unqualified audits and oversaw construction of the Westerre Conference Center. We are proud of his successes and wish him all the best in his new endeavors.”
