To Use TikTok or to Not to Use TikTok to Reach a Younger Audience

TikTok

TikTok is an iOS and Android media app that can be used for creating and sharing short videos. It first became popular with Generation Z (tweens and teens), but it is quickly growing in popularity with millennials.  If you are trying to reach a target audience of ages 13 to 30, give TikTok a try. TikTok is available in over 150 countries, has over 1 billion users, and has been downloaded over 175 million times in the United States. It’s a great way to reach a younger audience and to educate them on different health topics. The most common types of videos on TikTok are lip-syncing, dancing and comedy.  Doctors and nurses are becoming popular on TikTok not just for their dance moves, but also for their  healthcare informational short videos. TikTok also allows users to go Live in case you want to do a live Q&A or host a workshop.

The best way to start on TikTok is to research what other people are doing. Scroll on your “For You” page and see what are some of the current trends on TikTok.
