HENRICO, VA (November 17, 2025) – Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VCHA), in partnership with the Virginia Community Healthcare Foundation (VCHF), is pleased to announce its Annual Charity Golf Outing, to be held Monday, April 20, 2026, at The Dominion Club in Glen Allen, Virginia.
The annual event supports VCHA’s Community Health Scholarship, which provides early career readiness assistance to graduate-level medical students attending partner universities. Since the establishment of the scholarship, nearly $137,000 has been raised to support aspiring healthcare professionals in fields related to public health and community healthcare. This ongoing investment reflects VCHA’s commitment to strengthening Virginia’s healthcare workforce and expanding opportunities for students pursuing careers in community health.
Event Highlights:
- An 18-hole golf tournament suitable for both experienced and novice golfers
- Food and beverages offered throughout the day
- Contests and prizes, including hole-in-one and closest-to-the-pin competitions, as well as raffle drawings
- Networking opportunities with VCHA partners, healthcare stakeholders, and community leaders
“In 2024, over 70% of community health centers were reporting shortages of primary care physicians, nurses, and mental health professionals,” said Tracy Douglas, VCHA Chief Executive Officer. “The urgency of strengthening the workforce cannot be overstated. Our fundraiser is a fantastic opportunity to come together, have fun, and make a real difference.”
Ways to Participate:
- Golfer Registration: Individuals and teams of four are welcome.
- After-Play Awards Reception: Supporters who prefer not to golf may purchase an event ticket to join the evening reception.
- Sponsorship Opportunities: Multiple sponsorship packages are available, offering meaningful brand visibility while supporting the scholarship.
- Make a Donation: Those unable to attend may contribute directly to the scholarship fund. Every donation, of any size, helps aspiring healthcare professionals pursue their career goals.

ABOUT THE VCHA COMMUNITY HEALTH SCHOLARSHIP
The VCHA Community Health Scholarship was created to provide early-career readiness support to future health professionals as they prepare for careers in public health and community healthcare. In 2025, VCHA administered six scholarships to Nurse Practitioner students and four scholarships for Behavioral Health Masters students that are planning on entering the clinical field.
