VCHA Community Health Scholarship

The Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VCHA) has partnered with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) to develop the VCHA Community Health Scholarship

UNCF is reviewing 2024 applications.

The VCHA Community Health Scholarship is for full-time students who are pursuing an MD/DO/DDS degree, NP, PA, or Ph.D./Master’s in public health, psychology, and social work at a Virginia college or university. The award amount is $12,500 for up to three students. Scholarship recipients are eligible for renewal for up to three additional years and at graduation, they must seek employment with a Virginia CHC and work at the CHC for at least four years.

Applicants for the program must meet the following criteria: 

  • Must possess a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Must file a 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Form
  • Must have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by their college or university
  • Must be a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia or attend a Virginia college/university within close proximity to the targeted host locations and cities where there are VCHA member organizations and sites
