Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VCHA) Response to Rescission of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Federal Aid Freeze

The Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VCHA) is pleased to announce the rescission of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) federal aid freeze.

This reversal alleviates the financial constraints that would have been imposed on our member health centers, allowing them to continue providing high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services to the communities they serve. This decision ensures that health centers can fulfill the federal government’s mission to help communities thrive. The program enables health centers to work efficiently while addressing critical health conditions such as diabetes, black lung, cancer screenings, maternal health, and pediatric medical and dental care. It also supports the establishment of health center locations in schools and very rural parts of the country. The freeze had raised significant concerns about the ability of health centers to remain a vital resource for these challenged communities.

We are grateful to our members and partners who contacted Congress and the administration to remind them of the essential work being done in communities in Virginia and across the country.

We remain committed to collaborating with the new administration to foster bipartisan support for the continued funding of Virginia’s community health centers. By working together, we can ensure accessible and quality healthcare for all.
