The Community Health Center of the New River Valley (CHCNRV) has been awarded the 2019 Health Safety Net Innovation Award by the Virginia Health Care Foundation (VHCF). They were awarded for their success in integrating medical, dental, and mental health services to achieve better patient outcomes in all three of their centers.
“We know that we cannot improve physical health without including good dental care and mental wellness. We also understand that unmanaged mental illness, especially depression, places our patients at risk for all types of poor physical conditions, including stroke, Type Two diabetes, and heart disease,” said Michelle Brauns, CEO of Community Health Center of the New River Valley.
